It seemed that nothing, not even Mother Nature and two postponements could keep Austin Hill from his third straight victory at DAYTONA International Speedway.  Once Hill claimed the second seat outside of Pole sitter Jesse Love, you knew he was going to be a force to be dealt with.  Even though he would only lead nine laps during the race, it's the driver in the lead on the last lap that mattered.

​Heading into the final lap, Hill (No. 21) had his former teammate Sheldon Creed (No. 18) right on his heals, but a wreck behind him seemed to kill Creed's momentum and Hill would win by just over a half-second.  Hill would overcome multiple issues during the race, including a flat tire, and early wreck on lap 37, and a "couple" pit road issues.

​Jordan Love, who started the race on the Pole would finish in 20th, having suffered a lot more damage in the early wreck than Hill did.

​Finishing behind Hill and Creed in the United Rentals 300 were Parker Retzlaff (No. 31), Jordan Anderson (No. 32), and Chandler Smith (No. 81) rounded out the top five.

​Rookie Hailie Deegan was on my radar this year as I'm always supporting female racers at any level.  Unfortunately for Deegan, she got caught up in a wreck after Cup regular, Daniel  Suarez made his way back up the track during the incident and collected her, ending her first race at lap 22 (in 37th place) of the United Rentals 300.

​The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for Saturday's "Raptor King of Tough 250."  The race starts at 3:00PM EST and you can watch it on FS1.
