In pursuit of a coveted spot in the National Title Game, Bo Nix and the Oregon Ducks faced a formidable challenge this weekend against a resurgent Arizona State team at Mountain America Stadium. The sixth-ranked Ducks, guided by Heisman candidate Bo Nix, showcased their dominance right from the outset.

Within just 03:26 of the opening quarter, Nix connected with Patrick Herbert on a 23-yard touchdown pass, concluding an impressive nine-play, 75-yard drive. Undeterred by a missed field goal attempt from the Sun Devils, Nix replicated his success with another explosive 49-yard touchdown pass to Herbert, highlighting yet another 75-yard drive lasting under two minutes.

The Arizona State offense struggled against the relentless Ducks defense throughout the first half, enabling Oregon to capitalize with a barrage of touchdowns. Nix orchestrated consecutive drives, connecting with Troy Franklin for touchdown receptions of 16 and 45 yards.

Bo Nix continued to showcase his prowess, adding two more touchdowns before halftime, one to Gary Bryant Jr. for 71 yards and another to Tea Johnson for 16 yards. By halftime, Nix had amassed six touchdowns and over 380 yards, propelling the Ducks to a commanding 42-0 lead.

With the game firmly in their control, Nix rested during the second half, allowing Arizona State to make some offensive strides. The Sun Devils managed to put points on the board in the third quarter with a 38-yard field goal by Dario Longhetto and added a touchdown rush by Melquan Stovall, accompanied by another field goal from Longhetto.

Although the Ducks scored one more time early in the fourth quarter with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Ty Thompson to Casey Kelly, the final score on Saturday reflected a decisive 49-13 victory for the Oregon Ducks.


Looking ahead to "Rivalry Week," Arizona State is set to host #17 Arizona, while the #6 Ducks will face off against #11 Oregon State, maintaining their quest for the National Title.
