Heim Survives Chaos to Win SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series brought the fireworks to Texas Motor Speedway Saturday night as Corey Heim battled through a caution-filled final stage and two overtime restarts to take home the checkered flag in the SpeedyCash.com 250. In a race defined by strategy, aggressive racing, and late drama, Heim’s steady composure earned him his 14th career win and third victory of the 2025 season.

A Rainy Start, Early Drama
Weather canceled practice and qualifying earlier in the day, setting the grid by points and putting Tyler Ankrum on the pole alongside teammate Daniel Hemric. Ankrum quickly jumped to the lead at the drop of the green flag, holding off challenges from Jake Garcia and Layne Riggs as a competition caution slowed the field on lap 21.

Trouble brewed early when a lap 31 crash collected Kaden Honeycutt, Brandon Jones, and Giovanni Ruggiero after Ruggiero clipped the grass and ricocheted into the other two. Stewart Friesen spun to avoid the incident but was able to continue. The crash ended the night for all three involved.

Enfinger and Heim Split Stage Wins
As pit strategy shuffled the field, Grant Enfinger muscled his way to the front to claim Stage 1, edging Matt Mills and Matt Crafton in a sprint to the line.

The second stage saw intense door-to-door racing between Enfinger, Corey Heim, and Crafton, with Heim ultimately seizing control late to secure his fifth stage win of the year. Notably, Heim extended his streak of leading at least one lap in every race this season.

Trouble Everywhere in Stage 3
Stage 3 opened with Ty Majeski and Carson Hocevar leading the field, but Heim quickly worked his way back to the front by lap 96. The green-flag pit cycle shuffled positions, but Heim reclaimed the lead once stops cycled through with 31 laps remaining.

The race took a dramatic turn with a caution on lap 148 when actor-turned-driver Frankie Muniz hit the wall hard, ending his night early. Shortly after, a pivotal moment unfolded when Stewart Friesen spun, collecting both Enfinger and Chandler Smith in the aftermath, forcing NASCAR to throw the red flag for cleanup with just 11 laps to go.

Overtime Chaos and Heim’s Triumph
The final laps turned into a chess match of nerves and precision as the field faced multiple overtimes. First, a crash involving Jake Garcia and Connor Mosack sent the race into overtime for the first time in 22 races at Texas—a track notorious for its high number of overtime finishes.

After Matt Mills brought out yet another caution on the first overtime attempt, setting up a second green-white-checkered finish, Heim fended off fierce challenges from Daniel Hemric and Ben Rhodes to finally cross the finish line first.

With the win, Corey Heim became the youngest driver in NASCAR Truck Series history to reach 14 career wins at 22 years old, solidifying his status as a championship contender.
