The Arizona Diamondbacks (41-42) dropped the final game of a three-game set against the Miami Marlins (37-45) on Sunday afternoon at Chase Field, losing 6-4 despite holding a narrow lead through most of the game. With the roof closed and over 30,000 fans in attendance, Arizonaâs bullpen faltered late, spoiling a promising outing and allowing Miami to complete a sweep.

Miami got on the board in the first inning when rookie Agustin Ramirez tripled to center and was driven in on an RBI single by Eric Wagaman. Arizona quickly responded in the second with a clutch RBI triple from Jake McCarthy, tying the game 1-1.
In the third, Ketel Marte continued his All-Star campaign by launching a solo shot to right fieldâhis 16th home run of the seasonâputting the D-backs ahead 2-1.
From there, both starting pitchersâEduardo Rodriguez (AZ) and Cal Quantrill (MIA)âsettled in. Rodriguez threw five solid innings, allowing just one run, while Quantrill kept the Diamondbacks off balance through his own five-inning effort.

Arizonaâs bullpen began to crack in the 8th inning. After multiple walks loaded the bases, Miamiâs Otto Lopez delivered a go-ahead 2-RBI single. Kyle Stowers then crushed a bases-clearing double, giving Miami a commanding 6-2 lead in a stunning five-run frame.
Arizona clawed back in the bottom of the 8th after a wild pitch scored Jose Herrera and Eugenio Suarez knocked in another with an RBI single, but it wasnât enough.
Ronny Henriquez closed the door in the 9th, retiring the D-backs in order to secure the save and the sweep for Miami.
