Diamondbacks Fall in Extras After Wild 7-Run Rally

What looked like a comeback classic turned into a heartbreaker in the desert.
The Arizona Diamondbacks stormed back from an early deficit with a 6-run outburst in the 4th inning, powered by Ketel Marte’s three-run blast. But the Miami Marlins clawed their way back, tying the game in the 9th and stealing the win in extras, 8-7, at Chase Field. Despite clutch hitting and a rollercoaster of momentum shifts, the D-backs were unable to close the deal.
⚾ GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Top 1:
Miami jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after an error, a ground-rule double by Agustin Ramirez, and early control issues from Brandon Pfaadt.
Bottom 1:
Arizona answered with a sac fly from Pavin Smith to trim it to 2-1.
Top 3:
Eric Wagaman’s RBI double pushed Miami’s lead to 3-1.
Bottom 4 – Explosion:

Myers singles and steals two bases.
Heriberto Hernandez delivers an RBI sac fly. Game tied 7-7.
