The Arizona Diamondbacks had gone into this game having won four straight against the Cincinnati Reds. To stop the streak, the Cincinnati Reds sent Hunter Greene to the mound to take on Slade Cecconi.

Ceconni did a great job for the first three innings, holding the Reds to just one base runner on a walk in the beginning of the third inning.

In the bottom of the third, the Diamondbacks would get on the board first with a Blake Alexander two-run single to center, scoring Jake McCarthy and Kevin Newman.

The Reds would get their first runs in the top of the fourth with a Jake Fraley sacrifice fly, scoring Mike Ford. They would add their second run in the same frame off of a Jeimer Candelario RBI single to center, scoring Tyler Stephenson.

The Diamondbacks offense pretty much stalled after the third inning, going scoreless the rest of the game. Cincinnati would add two more runs in the top of the fifth inning on a Will Benson homer to right center, scoring Conner Capel and extending the Reds lead to 4–2.

The Reds would add two more runs in the top of the sixth inning with a pair of RBI singles by Santiago Espinal and Stuart Fairchild.

Cincinnati would win by the final score of 6-2.

Hunter Greene would get the win. He improves to 2-2 on the season. He went 7.0 innings, allowing just the two earned runs, one walk, and struck out five.

Slade Cecconi would be handed the loss. He is now 1-3 on the season. He went 5.2 innings pitched, allowed six earned runs, walked one, and struck out three.

​Arizona will be back against the Reds tomorrow at Chase Field. That game is slated for a 12:40PST start. Brandon Pfaadt will be on the mound for Arizona. Cincinnati will counter with Andrew Abbott.
