On a picture-perfect spring afternoon in Scottsdale, Arizona, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cleveland Guardians squared off in an exciting Spring Training matchup. With 6,852 fans in attendance and a first-pitch temperature of 78 degrees, baseball was in full swing as both teams tested their rosters in preparation for the regular season.

The Guardians got on the board first against the Diamondbacks star pitcher, Zac Gallen, with a blast to left field by Gabriel Arias. Gallen would strike out two in the opening frame in his only inning of work on the day.

Cleveland would add another two runs in the top of the 4th inning when Kyle Manzardo hit a two run shot off of Blake Walston.

Corbin Carroll would get the Diamondbacks on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning with a solo shot to right center field. This brought the score to 3-1 in favor of the Guardians.

The Diamondbacks would get three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. would then score Garrett Hampson from third with a sacrifice fly to left field. Eugenio Suarez would then hit an RBI double to left field, scoring Jorge Barrosa and Christian Robinson. This put the Diamondbacks up for good and they would win the spring training game by the final score of 4-3.

The winning pitcher for Arizona was Zane Russell, Conor Grammes would record the Save. And for the Guardians, the loss would go to Andrew Walters.

The Diamondbacks’ late-game rally secured a 4-3 victory over the Guardians, showcasing their offensive depth and pitching resilience. With contributions from Corbin Carroll, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and Eugenio Suárez, Arizona proved they are ready for the grind of the upcoming season. Up next, the team will face the Chicago Cubs before returning home to Salt River Fields for a showdown against the Brewers.
