Ohtani Shuts Down Arizona's Offense
The Diamondbacks had no answers for Shohei Ohtani.

Making another statement in his Cy Young-caliber season, Ohtani delivered six scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and one walk. He struck out six Arizona hitters and consistently worked ahead in counts, preventing the Diamondbacks from generating any offensive momentum.

Arizona's lineup never threatened throughout the evening. The club managed only two hits, both singles, and failed to advance a runner into a significant scoring position. Every attempt to build a rally was quickly extinguished by Ohtani's command and the Dodgers' defense.

As if his dominance on the mound wasn't enough, Ohtani also contributed offensively by collecting three hits and reaching base five times.

Dodgers Strike Early
The game changed in the second inning when Kyle Tucker launched a two-run home run into the Chase Field pool area. The blast immediately gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead and shifted momentum firmly toward the visitors.

Arizona starter Zac Gallen entered the game looking to provide stability for the Diamondbacks rotation but struggled against the Dodgers' disciplined lineup. Los Angeles consistently worked deep counts and found gaps throughout the game.

The Dodgers added three more runs in the third inning. Shohei Ohtani started the rally, Andy Pages followed with a double, and Freddie Freeman delivered a two-run single. Max Muncy later added another RBI hit, pushing the Dodgers' advantage to 5-0.

Any hope of a Diamondbacks comeback disappeared in the seventh inning.

Rookie Alex Freeland delivered a two-run single to extend the Dodgers' lead to 7-0. The hit capped another productive inning for Los Angeles and put the game completely out of reach.

Freeland finished with three hits and two RBIs, continuing to provide valuable production for a Dodgers lineup that already features stars throughout the batting order.

Kyle Tucker also enjoyed a strong night, finishing with three hits, a home run, and two RBIs. Freddie Freeman added multiple hits and drove in two runs as well.

Ketel Marte's Absence Looms Large
The Diamondbacks were already facing a difficult challenge before first pitch when Ketel Marte was scratched from the lineup due to hamstring-related fatigue.

Marte has been one of Arizona's most productive hitters this season, and his absence was noticeable throughout the game. Without their All-Star infielder in the lineup, the Diamondbacks struggled to create traffic on the bases or generate any sustained offensive pressure.

The lack of offensive production placed even more pressure on Gallen and the pitching staff against a Dodgers team that rarely gives opponents second chances.

Dodgers Continue NL West Push
The victory improved Los Angeles to 40-22 and further strengthened its position atop the National League West standings.
