Today, I'm excited to share a straightforward yet crucial 3-step process that, once mastered, empowers you to effectively sell any product to your target market. So, what is this "SECRET" three-step process, and how did I come across it?
As an avid reader, I believe in the power of daily reading. Even if it's just 30 minutes or 10 pages before bedtime, it's a habit I prioritize in my busy schedule. One book that significantly influenced me is "DOTCOM SECRETS" by Russell Brunson, the co-founder of ClickFunnels. Over the past four years, I've been so impressed with his products that I've become an affiliate, though I'm not here to pitch anything today.
This blog is centered around teaching, and I firmly believe that Russell's 3-step process, also known as the Hook, Story, Offer, is a fundamental lesson for anyone in sales or marketing. To demonstrate its effectiveness, I revisited every sales page Russell created, and without fail, he adheres to this process, whether selling a book, webinar, software, or event. Today, I'm breaking down each step for you.
Before we dive into the first step, The Hook, it's essential to know your target market and where they hang out online. Without this knowledge, the process won't be as effective. If you're unsure, take the time to identify your market first; this podcast will be here when you return.
Now, for those with a well-defined avatar, let's proceed.
1. The Hook:
Hooks are everywhere, especially in your Facebook newsfeed. Those attention-grabbing headlines, intriguing videos, and funny photos—all hooks. They're designed to make you think, "Let me check this out!" Russell once started a presentation by claiming someone would pay him $100k for his $600 phone, using this as a powerful hook. Hooks create curiosity, prompting your audience to lean in and pay attention.
- Examples of Hooks:
- Get so many leads with this software
- Lose so many pounds in "X" amount of time
- Get cleaner teeth in 3 steps
- No experience necessary
2. The Story:
The hook sets the stage for the story. Russell, for instance, shared the story of his $600 phone, detailing its contents—an exclusive contact list, critical financial analyses, and access to personal trainings. Your story, your experience, helps potential clients envision the value of your product.
3. The Offer:
An offer is not just the product—it's a product wrapped in irresistible bonuses that make it stand out. In Russell's case, by the end of his presentation, there were three hands still raised, willing to pay $750,000 for his $600 phone. The key is to make your offer so irresistible that saying no becomes nearly impossible. Think about what additional value you can provide—such as "how-to" eBooks or PDFs—to make your offer a no-brainer.
And there you have it—the "hook, story, offer" formula, a powerful tool to sell any product to your target market. I hope you find these steps valuable for your journey. Don't forget to follow The Motivated Mindset on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Have an amazing week, everyone!
