Prior to the series on the road against Cincinnati, the Arizona Diamondbacks had not won a series since their series at home against the St. Louis Cardinals from April 12th-14th.

Arizona was able to g get their ace back from the injured list. Zac Gallen started off the series with six solid innings, only allowing one hit, while striking out six. Gallen would get support from his offense, or more specifically from last seasons Rookie of the Year, Corbin. Carrol, who has been going through an offensive slump of his own to start the season, went 2-5 with a home run and five RBI’s. The Dbacks would take the first game by a final score of 6-2.

In the second game of the matchup, Arizona sent Jordan Montgomery to the rubber against the Reds’ Graham Ashcroft. Montgomery would pitch seven strong innings, only allowing two Earned Runs and seven hits, with two strikeouts on 95 pitches. Arizona would win Game 2 by the final score of 4-3.

In the final game of the three game series, the Diamondbacks sent Slade Cecconi to the mound and he delivered another solid start. Cecconi went five innings, allowed only one run, on just three hits. But the star of the game came from the offensive side as Joc Pederson would go 3-5 with a homer and an RBI, and he also scored twice. Arizona would finish the sweep with a 5-4 win.

​The Diamondbacks 4-game winning streak will be put to the test this weekend as they travel to Baltimore to take on the Orioles.
