Allgaier took the lead with just 15 laps remaining and held off a hard-charging Jesse Love to score his first win of the 2026 season, his 29th career victory in the series, and his third win at Phoenix Raceway. The victory also extended a remarkable streak—Allgaier has now won at least one race in 10 consecutive O’Reilly Auto Parts Series seasons, a testament to the consistency of the No. 7 JR Motorsports team.

A Race That Belonged to Jesse Love—Until It Didn’t
For much of the night, the story of the race centered around Jesse Love.

The Richard Childress Racing driver looked poised to dominate Phoenix once again. Love qualified near the front and quickly established himself as the driver to beat. Throughout the race, the No. 2 Chevrolet consistently showed elite speed on the flat one-mile oval, leading a race-high 114 laps and controlling long stretches of green-flag racing.

Love also captured Stage 2, continuing his strong start to the 2026 season and reinforcing his reputation as one of the best drivers at Phoenix Raceway.

But Phoenix has a habit of changing races late.

Two late cautions erased Love’s advantage and stacked the field for a series of restarts. That’s when Allgaier and the No. 7 team found their opportunity.

Early Stages Feature Long Green-Flag Runs
The race began with an unusual rhythm for Phoenix Raceway: long stretches without caution.

Stage 1 ran caution-free and was won by Sammy Smith, giving JR Motorsports an early boost.

After starting 17th, the veteran driver spent much of the early race navigating traffic and managing tire wear. At one point, the No. 7 team lost valuable track position after a slow pit stop, forcing Allgaier to fight his way back through the field.

With fewer than 20 laps remaining, a caution reset the field and erased Love’s comfortable lead.

On the final restart with 15 laps to go, Allgaier lined up alongside Love.

Using the outside lane, Allgaier carried momentum through Turns 1 and 2 and powered past Love to take the lead. The move proved decisive.

Once in clean air, Allgaier maintained his composure and never relinquished the top spot, driving away slightly to secure the victory.
