The NASCAR Xfinity Series delivered a thrilling chapter at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the Hard Rock Bet 300, where veteran Justin Allgaier overcame a 20-second deficit in the final laps to pull off a stunning win—his second consecutive victory this season and his 27th career Xfinity triumph.

🔥 First Career Pole for Taylor Gray, Early Lead Changes
The green flag waved with Taylor Gray on the pole for the first time in his Xfinity Series career, leading the field alongside young standout Connor Zilisch. Gray jumped out front through Turn 1 with Justin Allgaier, Sam Mayer, and Zilisch battling behind.

However, by Lap 7, Allgaier had taken over the top spot, beginning what would be a strong showing for the veteran driver.

Just seven laps later, Kyle Larson—fresh off a Truck Series win—had already climbed from 17th to third, showing early signs of domination.

⚠️ Cautions, Chaos, and Stage 1 Shuffles
The first caution came on Lap 16 when Christian Eckes, running in seventh, suffered mechanical issues and headed to the garage with smoke billowing from the rear of his car.

The field reshuffled on the Lap 24 restart, where Allgaier held the lead momentarily before Larson muscled his way to the front two laps later.

Another caution came at Lap 30 when Chris Wright suffered flat right-side tires and spun in Turn 4.

The final caution of the stage came with eight laps remaining, thanks to a spin by Justin Bonsignore. On the restart with four to go, a flurry of tire strategy played out.

In a late surge, Kyle Sieg, on fresher tires, took the lead with two laps left—but it was Sammy Smith who ultimately stole Stage 1 at the stripe, with Ryan Sieg, Larson, and Mayer rounding out the top five.

​🔧 Pit Penalties and New Leaders in Stage 2
After pit stops, Sammy Smith won the race off pit road, but Justin Allgaier was penalized for driving through too many pit stalls and had to restart at the rear.

With Carson Kvapil and Harrison Burton staying out, they led the field to green. Kvapil briefly held the lead before Jesse Love surged ahead on Lap 54. The Dash 4 Cash contenders—Love, Allgaier, Mayer, and Austin Hill—battled intensely through the stage.

​By Lap 59, Mayer had taken the lead. Then, on Lap 82, Larson reclaimed the top spot and never looked back. He went on to win Stage 2, followed by Mayer, Sheldon Creed, Hill, and Zilisch.

🛠️ Final Stage: Larson’s Domination & A Late Caution Twist
As the final stage began, Larson and Hill brought the field to green. Larson quickly pulled away, building a 10+ second lead over Mayer with 30 laps to go.

But as dominant as Larson looked, Homestead had one more twist in store.

With eight laps to go, a caution flew when Taylor Gray—running 10th—spun coming out of Turn 4. The entire top five, including Larson, dove onto pit road for fresh tires.

🚨 Wild Restart: Allgaier's Heroic Comeback
The field restarted with just three laps remaining. Larson spun his tires, falling back to third as Austin Hill and Justin Allgaier powered forward.

Allgaier took the white flag out front, holding off Hill to claim the Hard Rock Bet 300 victory—a win that seemed nearly impossible just moments before.

Not only did he win the race, but Allgaier also secured the Dash 4 Cash $100,000 bonus by finishing ahead of Mayer, Hill, and Love.

Kyle Larson, who led a race-high 132 laps, expressed frustration with the final restart, saying:

“The 41 (Mayer) just held back and slammed the sh*t out of me….I can’t go when my rear tires are off the ground.”
Still, Larson walked away with a fourth-place finish, despite the crushing loss of a dominant day.
