The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series made its highly anticipated stop at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Fr8 208, kicking off a thrilling doubleheader on Saturday. All eyes were on Kyle Busch, a dominant force in the series with seven career wins at the track. With a strong field and strategic gambles at play, the race delivered intense battles, dramatic incidents, and a nail-biting finish.

Kyle Busch had 7 wins heading into this weekend in Atlanta for the Craftsman Truck Series. He had a solid qualifying round, placing himself into the ninth starting position, on the inside of row five. Connor Mosack (81, first career Pole) and Grant Enfinger made up the front row for the Fr8 208 on Saturday afternoon at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The Truck Series race would be the first of a double-header that the fans would witness as the Xfinity Series race was scheduled for later Saturday evening.

No fireworks in the early stage, other than a few lead changes, as Jack Wood (91) would take the stage lead, followed by Grant Enfinger (9), Connor Mosack (81), Kyle Busch (7), Corey Heim (11), Stewart Friesen (52), Tyler Ankrum (18), Daniel Hemric (19), Rajah Caruth (71), and Michael McDowell (07).

Layne Riggs (34), who was running in the top 10 at the end of the first stage, got penalized and sent to the rear for passing below the double yellow line. To add insult to injury, he would have a mechanical issue where he lost power and had a hard time getting the truck fired up again. Despite the issues, he would get them fixed and have a strong finish in 20th.

Grant Enfinger (9) and Kyle Busch (7) would be the first off pit road, but they would fall in line behind Corey Heim (11) as he decided to stay out. Daniel Hemric (19) and Keith McGee (2) had to serve pass-through penalties for speeding off pit road.

With 20 laps to go in the second stage, the 88 of Matt Crafton would find the outside wall (scrape) but no caution would fly from the incident. Crafton would finish the race in 22nd.

With two laps to go in the second stage, the #11 of Corey Heim would run out of fuel and his earlier gamble would come back to haunt him. Heim would finish the race in 23rd.

Kyle Busch (7) would take the second stage win, followed by Ty Majeski (98), Grant Enfinger (9), Michael McDowell (07), and Kade Honeycutt (45).

The race off pit road saw Rajah Caruth (71) take the lead, followed by Daniel Hemric (19), Andres Perez De Lara (77), Grant Enfinger (9), and Michael McDowell (07).

On lap 74 of 135, Rajah Caruth (71) would spin coming out of turn four, bringing out the caution. Daniel Hemric (19) hit Caruth on his right rear with his left front, sending Caruth toward the outside wall. Caruth would collect the #77 of Andres Perez De Lara, and the #1 of William Sawalich. Sawalich would finish in 30th, and Perez De Lara would finish 27th. Rajah Caruth would finish the race in 29th.

Once the action resumed after a lengthy red flag, the trucks came to pit road. Kyle Busch (7) would lead the field off pit road, followed by Ben Rhodes (99), Kaden Honeycutt (45), Grant Enfinger (9), and Giovanni Ruggiero (17).

The Caution flew with 29 laps to go. “Malcolm in the Middle” star, Frankie Muniz got caught up in a wreck, trying to move up to avoid Daniel Hemric moving up from the inside. Muniz would hit #19 Daniel Hemric into the wall causing the multi-car crash. Hemric would finish the race in 16th, and Muniz would finish the race in 26th position.

The final lap would see Kyle Busch (7) edge out Stewart Friesen (52) claim his 8th Craftsman Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Tyler Ankrum would finish third, followed by Bayley Currey (44), Chandler Smith (38), Kaden Honeycutt (45), Ben Rhodes (99), Ty Majeski (98), Jake Garcia (13), and Grant Enfinger (9).

The Craftsman Truck Series is off until Friday, March 14th, where they will compete at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Ecosave 200.
