Larson finally cashes in after years of dominance at Homestead

Homestead, FL — Kyle Larson has long dominated the Homestead-Miami Speedway without seeing the checkered flag. But on this Sunday afternoon in the NASCAR Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 400, he finally turned those laps led into victory lane glory — earning his 30th career Cup Series win and becoming the third-winningest driver in Hendrick Motorsports history, trailing only legends Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.

Larson Caps Off Dominant Weekend with Victory
Larson entered the race weekend red hot after strong showings in both the Truck and Xfinity Series. And while he didn’t start up front — qualifying 14th — it quickly became clear he was the one to watch.

Despite losing the lead to Bubba Wallace with just over 90 laps to go, Larson never went away. He stayed patient, made strategic moves on pit road, and pounced with six laps remaining when race leader Alex Bowman tagged the wall, giving Larson the opportunity he needed to drive around and lock up the win.

​Bowman would finish second, his best result since Richmond earlier this season, while Wallace came home third in a bittersweet result — leading key laps but falling just short of his first win in over 60 races.

On Lap 261, Bowman grazed the outside wall in Turn 4, slowing just enough for Kyle Larson to strike. Larson passed him cleanly and never looked back, cruising to victory in front of the Florida crowd.
