Winning on five completely different styles of racetracks demonstrated the versatility of both the No. 45 team and one of NASCAR's most talented drivers.

For much of the first half of the season, Reddick looked nearly unbeatable. He consistently qualified near the front, collected valuable stage points and rarely made costly mistakes. Although recent mechanical issues and inconsistent finishes have allowed others to close the gap in the standings, no driver has assembled a stronger overall résumé.

Denny Hamlin may currently lead the points standings, but Driver of the Year should reward the best overall season—not simply the hottest stretch.

Biggest Disappointment

There's still plenty of time to turn things around before the playoffs begin, but through twenty races, expectations have far exceeded results.

Best Rookie

This may be the toughest award to hand out.

Connor Zilisch has displayed incredible speed and may ultimately possess the highest ceiling of any rookie in the field. However, his season has also included multiple DNFs and costly mistakes that have prevented him from putting together a complete campaign.

Riley Herbst, meanwhile, has quietly done exactly what teams hope to see from a rookie driver.

He's stayed competitive, minimized mistakes, continued learning every week and steadily improved throughout the season.

Sometimes the best rookie isn't the flashiest rookie.

Sometimes it's the one who consistently brings the race car home.

Highest Ceiling: Connor Zilisch

Best Race

Talladega Superspeedway
Talladega delivered everything that makes NASCAR great.

There were constant lead changes.

Multiple drafting strategies.

Late-race drama.

Several drivers capable of winning.

And the perfect ending with Carson Hocevar earning the first Cup Series victory of his career.

The race featured everything fans expect from superspeedway racing while also creating one of the defining moments of the 2026 season.

Honorable Mention: Chicagoland Speedway
After a seven-year absence, Chicagoland returned to the Cup schedule and immediately reminded NASCAR fans why they wanted it back. Multiple racing grooves, tire falloff and strategic decisions created one of the most entertaining intermediate-track races of the year.

Best Finish

Some victories are dominant.

Others have to be earned.

Chase Briscoe's victory at Chicagoland belonged in the second category.

Following a perfectly executed strategy, Briscoe found himself trying to hold off teammate Christopher Bell during the closing laps. Bell closed rapidly, but Briscoe remained calm under pressure, hitting every mark and refusing to make the mistake Bell needed.

The margin of victory was just 0.276 seconds.

The finish also completed a remarkable Joe Gibbs Racing sweep of the top three positions with Briscoe, Bell and Denny Hamlin.

It was one of the most exciting finishes of the entire season.

Most Improved Driver
