On a bobblehead giveaway night at Chase Field, fans witnessed a jaw-dropping top of the 1st inning as the Washington Nationals erupted for 10 runs before the Diamondbacks recorded a single out. Every batter in the lineup reached base, and Brandon Pfaadt’s night was over after facing just eight hitters.
The rally included back-to-back doubles, two hit batters, and relentless small-ball execution. Washington sent 14 men to the plate, led by Luis Garcia Jr., who drove in 3 RBIs in his first two at-bats.
After falling behind 11-0 by the second inning, Arizona's offense remained dormant until a four-run explosion in the 6th inning, powered by a 2-RBI triple from Pavin Smith and a 2-run blast from Randal Grichuk. The comeback brought life to the Chase Field crowd, trimming the lead to 11-7.
