First Inning Fireworks
The Arizona Diamondbacks wasted no time setting the tone. Ketel Marte launched his 24th home run of the season to deep left field, followed immediately by Geraldo Perdomo’s 16th. The back-to-back shots marked just the fourth time in franchise history that Arizona opened a game with consecutive homers. Marte’s blast was his 11th leadoff home run of the season, putting him just two behind Chris Young’s franchise record (13).

The early surge gave the D-backs a 2–0 cushion after one inning.

Rangers Fight Back
In the top of the 3rd, Texas answered when Kyle Higashioka singled and rookie Cody Freeman drilled a two-run homer to left. Suddenly, it was a one-run game at 3–2. Arizona starter Ryne Nelson settled down briefly, but the Rangers continued to apply pressure.

Wyatt Langford tied the game in the 6th with a laser line-drive solo homer, his 21st of the year, knotting things up at 3–3.

Diamondbacks Rally Behind Alexander
The Diamondbacks responded in the home half of the 6th. Corbin Carroll singled and swiped two bags—his 22nd and 23rd of the season—before Blaze Alexander ripped an RBI triple to right. Gabriel Moreno followed with a run-scoring double, pushing Arizona back in front 5–3.

Unfortunately, the inning was overshadowed by an injury. Outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was carted off the field in visible pain after a defensive play, leaving D-backs fans concerned about his status moving forward.

Rangers Battle Back in the 9th
Arizona held firm into the 9th inning, but the Rangers showed why they’ve been one of MLB’s hottest teams. With two outs, Jake Burger—pinch-hitting for Rowdy Tellez—lashed a triple to center to score Adolis García. Freeman followed with an RBI single to tie the game 5–5, stunning the Chase Field crowd and sending the contest into extras.

Extra-Inning Heartbreak
In the top of the 10th, Michael Helman began the inning on second base. Ezequiel Durán walked, and with two outs, Alejandro Osuna delivered the dagger—a sharp single that plated two runs after a replay review overturned an out call. The Rangers surged ahead 7–5.

Arizona went quietly in the bottom half, as Shawn Armstrong locked down his sixth save of the year to secure Texas’ sixth straight victory.
